Howdy!
My name is Mark Lasky-Davison. I'm a filmmaker, camera tech, and post-production coordinator based in Melbourne. I graduated from the VCA School of Film & TV with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) in 2020 and my work has screened at festivals in Australia and overseas, including the St Kilda Film Festival and London Australian Film Festival.
I currently work as the Post-Production Coordinator for Deakin University, supporting Film, Television and Animation productions from shoot through to final delivery.
Alongside my professional work, I'm developing my debut feature film, Sometimes I Long For Nothingnesswhich is currently in pre-production and aiming to shoot in early 2027. The film blends slow cinema with slasher and road movie influences. I've jokingly described it as Paris, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It follows two estranged sisters on a journey from Melbourne to Broken Hill as they confront family trauma, mend a fractured relationship, and race toward a violent reckoning in the outback.
I'm also the drummer for Melbourne metal band Dalliance. In 2026 we celebrated our tenth anniversary with the release of two EPs: Ten Years, featuring re-recorded favourites from across the band's catalogue, and Common Ground, a collection of entirely new material.
I love films that stay with you after the credits roll. The best stories don't hand over easy answers; they create space for reflection, conversation, and a deeper understanding of ourselves and the people around us. My favourites include Crash, Stalker, Die My Love and Paris, Texas.
